CRICKET MATCH – A TRIBUTE TO SACHIN TENDULKAR 'THE LIVING LEGEND’
23rd April, 2014 was an ideal day for an interesting and existing game of cricket. A cricket match was organized at The Millennium School, Patiala as a tribute to the living legend, Sachin Tendulkar who retired from the game after serving the country for well over 24 years. The teams were given a rousing and warmed welcome by the students when they entered the field. Two teams – Tendulkar Masters and Tendulkar Blasters – comprising students, teachers, coaches and instructors played a keenly contested game. The match had all the qualities of one played at the national or international level.
The two captains, Mr. Sumanjot Singh Grewal and Mr. Jagjeet Singh Sidhu, went to the middle for the toss. Tendulkar Masters, on winning the toss, decided to field first. On batting first, Tendulkar Blasters, scored 130 runs in 12 overs. Tendulkar Masters, after loosing four wickets for 18 runs, won the match eventually by two wickets. Mrs. Neelinderjeet Kaur Sandhu, The Principal, awarded trophies who excelled on the field in various departments of the game. Mr. Ravi Kumar and Master Nalin won the Man of The Match trophies for the staff and the students respectively.
