INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
The tricolour fluttered proudly at The Millennium School, Lucknow on 15th August 2016 with the Principal of the school, Dr. Manjula Goswami hoisting it to the melodious strains of the national anthem, as the students and teachers gathered to celebrate the 70th Independence Day of the nation.
The Cultural and Dramatics Club set up a crescendo of patriotic fervour with an array of events in the Special Assembly conducted by them. A grand march past by students was the highlight of the day. After the National flag was unfurled, all the teachers who were dressed to the occasion were felicitated by the Principal of the school.
The Head boy and the Head girl gave their speeches, encouraging today’s youth to achieve laurels for the country and be better citizens.
Students revered the supreme sacrifice of freedom fighters by organizing a vibrant display of programmes interspersed with music, drama and patriotic songs. The students of class I and Little Millennium came dressed in colourful dresses to add to the importance of the National festival.
The mothers of class 6th students walked the ramp with their vivid ensemble and enjoyed the event with great fervor at the fashion show organised for them.
The students showcased their creativity by participating in the Creative Writing, Face Painting Competition ,English Poem Recitation which was highly appreciated..
A power point presentation was also shown which depicted the heroic deeds of our national heroes. A fiery Declamation Competition, an inter-house singing competition, also took place where all the participants sang to the tunes of inspiring and patriotic melodies. To add to the glint of the occasion, a mesmerizing Dance-Competition was also arranged. It was also the time for the students to come to terms with their responsibility in creating an idyllic environment for themselves and others.
Nationaliam peaked and patriotism filled hearts as the students took part in not only the Singing Competition but also the Art Competition.
Our honourable Principal ma’am addressed all the students and advised them to be disciplined in their life. She reminded them of their responsibilities towards the nation and asked them to prepare themselves to serve the nation as good leaders. Sweets were also distributed among all students and staff.
