“Sports Day”. A day full of competitive sporting activities, participation spirit and a bonding which would last beyond the years. 18th Feburary, the day when standard III of The Millennium School organized their Sports Day. There was a palpable enthusiasm amongst all.
The heats for the athletic events were a lot of fun and were conducted prior to the final day.The sports meet was held open after the lighting of the torch by our Principal Dr Manjula Goswami. The event started with the marching of the office bearers of the Primary School( MLS1) There are certainly some budding Olympians amongst the class III students as they ran, jumped and balanced their way through the various events during the day.
Athletic meet started with 100m hurdle race for both boys and girls . The much anticipated house relay race and boys and girls 100 m race was followed by Parents race - lemon race which saw maximum participation. The morning continued with the medal ceremony in which all students received medals for their sporting efforts.
Thereafter the various drills like Marshal Arts, Healthy India where students showcased aerobics and the Portrayal of Tribal dance left the audience spell bound. The events that followed were the most energetic and cheered tug of war for the Parents where Parents competed against each other. And as no sports event can end without Pyramids, the 3rd standard student excelled in formations of beautiful pyramids for both boys and girls. The event concluded with the Grand Finale. All the students demonstrated amazing agility, coordination and keenness in their participation.
The faces of the students were radiant and the event was much appreciated by all present . The children were awesome and in the end each one of them proved to be a true winner.
