Diwali Celebrations 2019

Diwali Celebrations 2019

Diwali, the festival of lights, is perhaps the most exuberant and popular festival to be celebrated not only in India, but in many regions across the globe. It is a five day celebration that starts eighteen days after Dussehra and generates convivial spirit within everyone. At this time, all feuds are forgotten as people are on the zenith of rejoice.

The Millennium school left no stones unturned to ensure that the students bask in festivities and yet learn something new. The students geared up for their Special Assembly- preparing theatrical, musical and dance performances as a way to understand, honour and enjoy the importance of Diwali. A skit was performed as an effort to spread awareness about the harmful effects of fireworks and to remind the students to have a safe and environment friendly Diwali. The dance and music performances, vivaciously, captured the joyous feelings. The students dressed up as mythological characters and performed a drama that aptly revisited the historical significance of the festival in different parts of India- the victorious return of Lord Rama, honouring Goddess lakshmi and Goddess Kali and the eternal love between siblings.

The assembly was summed up by the Principal of the school, Dr.Goswami who elaborated upon the relevance and emotions behind Diwali- how the victorious euphoria, the celebration, the joy and finally the hope can be used in one’s path to success, even today. As the fun-filled day came to an end, the students left for a festive break with a heart full of happiness and excitement but a cautious and vigilant brain.
