The Millennium School, South City celebrated the momentous occasion of our 73rd Independence to remind its students about the significance of 15th August and the importance it has in our daily lives. Our national festivals remind us of the sacrifices long forgotten but not in vain, the foundations on which our country was built and the progress that it has made with time.
It was a colorful and lively day, all the teachers decided to dress up as patriotically as possible exhibiting the obvious color combination. The day started with an articulate speech by the Head boy which kindled a sense of patriotism and earned a well deserved approbation followed by the Head Girl.The speech was followed by the Flag hoisting ceremony. The Indian tricolour was hoisted by the Principal of the school,Dr. Manjula Goswami.Patriotism reverberated in the air as the students sang the national anthem with great pride and ardour. Cheers of the celebration resonated throughout the entire school.
Dr. Goswami addressed the students and hailed them to wake up to the call of duty as the nation summons them. Her speech was followed by the most unique of Millennium features, awarding the best dressed teachers. Teachers who have been working deligently for the school were also felicitated.
The students participated in a number of vibrant activities and competitions like: Rakhi making, Soft board decoration, Speech Competition ,Bookmark making etc. The day culminated with the distribution of sweets.
