MUN: THE WAR OF WORDS

A new crop of statesmen honed their skills at Model United Nations organized by Seth M.R Jaipuria, School on 22nd and 23rd August,2014. The Millennium School sent a delegation of 24 students to MUN. The student-delegates participated in three committees, namely: The Historic Indian Parliament, Futuristic Security Council and the Disarmament Council, DISEC.

The bone of contention at the Historic Parliament was the demolition of Babri Masjid, in 1992. The student parliamentarians locked horns to prove the point of their respective political parties. The students at the Futuristic Council had an animated discussion on the Western Sahara Crisis of 2025. The students passed resolutions and motions with imperturbable self-assurance. The line of reasoning at DISEC was the need of disarmament and the avoidance of foreign intervention in the domestic squabbles of a country. They argued and raised pertinent issues, like seasoned politicians. It requires great prudence and equanimity to plan strategies to turn the tables at a political forum. The young but astute politicians left the audience spell-bound with their acumen and sharpness at public speaking. Nitin Wadhwa, who played Mr. Ram Vilas Paswan at the Historic Parliament, received a ‘Special Mention’ certificate for his histrionics and arguments

Dr. Amrita Dass, leading educationist and Career counselor was the Chief Guest to the event. Back home, the Principal of the Millennium School, Dr. Goswami applauded the delegation, saying that the real adjudication is participation
