Mother’s Day is an occasion which everyone can relate to. People across regions, religions, caste, culture and genders have emotions binding them to their mothers. It is a celebration not only honouring the mother, but also motherhood, maternal bond and influence of mothers in society.
To pay a special tribute to the unfathomed love of this extension of divinity, The Millennium School, South City, Lucknow, celebrated Mother's Day on 12th May, 2018 in the school precincts with the active participation of the mothers and their children.
The programme for the day was a vibrant amalgamation of various activities like Ramp Walk for the mothers of Little Millennium and Class I while the mothers of Classes II to V showcased their talent in a Dance performance. The mothers of Classes VI to VIII also participated in Salad Making, Flower Arrangement and Painting Competitions with unparalleled zest and joy. To make their mothers feel special, the students expressed their love through overwhelming thanksgiving messages.
The programme drew to a close with an inspiring speech by the Principal of the school, Dr. Manjula Goswami who appreciated the multi-faceted role of mothers. She said that motherhood has the greatest potential of influencing the human race. She made the children realize the importance of their mothers and asked them to value her, as it is because of her sacrifices, love, compassion and warmth that they are able to carve a place for themselves and also bring necessary respite and solace in their lives.
