A significant motive of mankind today is to take care of their home i.e. Mother Earth. We are presented with the need to undertake various activities to promote and propagate awareness about the conservation and protection of our Earth. World Earth day is celebrated all over the world on 22nd April with unparalleled initiative and enthusiasm.

A special assembly was organized by the students of MLS 1 to earmark the essence of the occasion. The students of class II presented a small skit “The Sun’s Birthday” in which they discussed the importance of three R’s (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) and also the causes of the depletion of natural resources. The students were motivated to make their contribution to safe- guard the environment with the help of a power point presentation. The students were enlightened about ways of preserving and protecting the environment, the purport of planting more trees was also discussed with the students in the assembly.

The students of MLS-II competed house wise with one other in a race to create the best and the most useful product out of waste, keeping in mind the intent of the Earth day and the principle of 3R's-‘reduce,reuse and recycle.’ Needless to say the creative models exhibited by the children were praise worthy and were appreciated by all faculty members and fellow students.

Further emboldening the gravity of the day, MLS 3 organized a quiz competition to sensitize the generation next about the rich legacy bestowed on us by nature. The quiz was an ebullient show, consisting of four rounds in which the participants from the four houses showed their enthusiasm by giving pat answers. The audience constantly applauded the participants on correct answers. It was a sterling learning experience for the students.
