In an endeavour to identify and develop talented shooters in rifle for World championships, The Millennium School has collaborated with the Uttar Pradesh State Rifle Association (UPSRA) to organise a superlative platform for aspiring shooters with air weapons from across the state. More than 650 students have registered for the 2017-UPSRA Championship that would take place from 9th August to 13th August, 2017.
The honourable Special Secretary for PWD for the Government of Uttar Pradeshand the former District Magistrate of Lucknow, Mr.Raj Shekhar inaugurated the grand event on 9th August,2017 at the premises of The Millennium School,Lucknow.He appreciated the venture and invigorated the participants,saying that the right environment and right support could unearth sportsmen with real potential to progress far in sports.
The Principal of the school, Dr.ManjulaGoswami also extolled the spirits of the young shooters. She said that participation in sports is instrumental in building a high self-esteem and confidence among students. One or many of the participants could represent India in International Championships.
The ambitious shooters began the first day of the championship with great poise and and passion. The event would culminate on 13th August, 2017.
