Sports day is a platform to showcase the talent and efforts put in by the children to make it a successful event . Sports at school level is not only about competition but also it is about having fun, being physically active , learning the basics of sports and building co-ordination amongst the students so as to give them an opportunity to display their self - confidence , patience , zeal and sportsmanship .
The playground of The Millennium School,South City, Lucknow was filled with great zeal, excitement and frolicsome atmosphere on 14th February, 2019 as the much awaited Sports Fiesta of Grade VII was held in the school. The pleasant weather was the perfect boost for the students. The students entered into the spirit of the occasion with great zeal and enthusiasm.
The programme began with a welcome speech followed by lighting of the auspicious lamp. This was entailed by releasing of balloons and the declaration of the Meet open by the Principal of the school, followed by the lighting of the Millennium flame, igniting the passion of sporting spirit.
The Principal of the school, Dr. Manjula Goswami also took the salute of the impressive March Past of the Office Body of the school. An energizing Clapper drill set the tone for the rest of the event.
The most intriguing aspect, embellishing the event was the splendid field displays, involving mass student participation, which splattered on the field. Students displayed a wide array of colourful and reverberant events which included Unique human Pyramid, Feather drill, and a Zumba performance. These eye- catching and captivating displays were whole heartedly enjoyed and appreciated by the audience.Several parents participated in the fun races organized for them with great vigour and enthusiasm and the winners among them were awarded with medals.
The Principal in her address lauded the energy ,zest and vitality of students presenting the Field Displays. She opined that sports is a very important part of education because it makes students disciplined.She urged the students to participate in sports with sincerity and utmost dedication.
The programme ended with National Anthem.
