Human beings are social by their nature. Human dignity is not realized in isolation but is realized by dignity with others. The dignity of the person is lived out in society by fulfillment of personal responsibilities.
With this sense of responsibility in their minds and their hearts, the students of The Millennium School, Lucknow, celebrated Global Dignity Day on 16 October 2015. The school instilled the concept of interdependence in their students, that helping others to live a dignified life will also contribute to their own dignity.
The students voluntarily took charge of this responsibility and enthusiastically participated in the activity conducted by the school to showcase this cause. They also pledged to help the needy and clicked photographs wherever they witnessed an act of dignity. A photography competition was also held to motivate the children.
The Principal, Dr. Manjula Goswami, took pride in the children saying that the purpose of celebrating this day is to educate and inspire students in particular about the concept and approach of human dignity. This further helps them to contribute constructively to the dignity of others through the actions they choose to take.
