Summer is here… time for fun and games and learning too!!! I am a growing up boy/girl now and I must learn to do my work on my own. How about starting with combing my hair, wearing my clothes and most important cleaning up my room!
MUMMY and DADDY please help me to learn all this!!!
Let your child touch and feel the following BODY PARTS
Head,Hair,Forehead,Nose,Nostrils,Eyes,Eyebrows,Cheeks,Chin,Ears,Lips,Mouth,Teeth,Tongue,Neck,
Arms, Shoulders, Elbow, Wrist, Hand, Palm, Fingers, Nails, Thumb, Legs, Thighs, Knees, Ankles, Heels, Toes, Back, Stomach, Chest, Hips.
GOOD MANNERS-
Use of Polite Words –Thank you, Please, Excuse Me , Sorry.
Enrich your child’s vocabulary by making them learn the following words-
Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Soap, Soap Case, Mirror ,Tap, Bucket, Mug, Shower, Wash Basin, Toilet, Door, Window, Comb, Oil, Powder, Shampoo, Nail cutter, Ear Buds and Dentist.
Let us revise the concept of OPPOSITES -
Big and Small, Up And Down, Tall and Short, In And Out, Fat And Thin, Good And Bad habits, hot and cold, etc.
HYGIENE INSTRUCTIONS-
Help me learn names of things and activities that help me to keep clean every day.
•
Brush your teeth once in the morning and once at night.
•
Do not eat too many chocolates and drink aerated cold drinks.
•
Take your bath daily.
•
Keep your finger nails and toe nails neat and trimmed.
•
Wash hands and legs before and after meals.
•
Use your own towel, toothbrush, Comb.
•
Use napkin while sneezing.
CREATIVITY AT ITS BEST -
Please Melt 10 -11 WAX CRAYONS in a bowl and make a single round shaped crayon.
It is easy for a child to hold it and thus scribble freely on any paper (preferably thin chart sheets or old newspapers).This helps in developing a firm PINCER GRIP.
Help me to PLAY WITH DOUGH (they should be able to make chapatti or a round ball etc with it)

Collect wrappers of simple things that your child easily identifies through sight reading. For e.g.: chips, toffees, chocolates, biscuits, name of the school etc. let the child make a collage.
TIPS FOR PARENTS

Introduce one small word with meaning each day.

Set up an activity corner where the child can mess with crayons and water colours.
·
Encourage your child to converse in English.
·
Arrange a get together with his/her friends.
·
Conduct a non- fire cookery class for your child. Tell them some easy recipes like sandwiches, ice cream with cake, bhelpuri, biscuit toppings, etc.

Read one story daily to your child with a moral.
