DUSSEHRA CELEBRATED AT THE MILLENNIUM SCHOOL

The Millennium School, Lucknow has always endeavoured to instill secular values in our students. All festivals are celebrated in the premises of our school with great fervency and excitement.

The  word ‘Dussehra’ is derived from the Sanskrit word Dasha-hara  literally meaning ‘removal of ten’. It refers to Lord Rama’s victory over the ten-headed demon king Ravana. The day also marks the victory of Goddess Durga over the demon Mahishasur.

In an effort to make the students realize the importance of the day, The Millennium School, Lucknow organized a special Assembly on the auspicious occasion. A dance drama was presented by the students of MLS 2 followed by a devotional song in the praise of Lord Rama.

The Principal of the institution, Dr Manjula Goswami spoke to the students on the philosophical aspect of the festival. She urged the students to incorporate the teachings of the Ramayana in their life.
