Living through the Covid times, people missed socializing, partying with friends and with Covid having taken a back seat, people were looking forward to an opportunity to dress up, party hard and to enjoy to the fullest. With the festival season around, The campus of The Millennium School, South City, Lucknow reverberated with festive fervor when not only the staff and students, but also people of all ages, from every nook and corner came together to enjoy ‘Dandiya Night’ a fun-filled Pre-Diwali celebration on 20th October, 2022. The celebration not only highlighted the importance of embracing one’s cultural roots, but also offered an opportunity for the students to experience immense warmth, uninhibited camaraderie and boundless affection. After the auspicious lighting of the lamp, the audience embarked upon a beautiful journey, replete with the stupendous dance performance of students and teachers. Their riveting dance earned a thunderous applause. The incredible acrobats and the burgeoning talent of these young performers swayed the audience. The guests rejoiced the adorable endeavour. The positivity and energy exuberating out of the colourful décor of the campus, vivid costumes combined with the enthusiasm of dancing to the dandiya folk songs made the event more successful and fruitful. The evening was lit up with colorful shopping stalls for clothes, accessories, homecare, cosmetics, chocolates, gifts, toys and handicrafts etc. The teachers organized various game stalls like ‘Stop & Throw’, ‘Unlock the Lock’, ‘Ping the Ball’, ‘Goal Busters’ and many more. To keep everyone engaged, there were stalls for tattoos, nail art, Diya painting and also a ‘Selfie Corner’. To fight the hunger pangs, various food stalls for vegetarian and non vegetarian lovers, like chaat, pizzas, burgers, cold drink, ice creams, etc. were put up. The ‘Haunted House’ was a thrilling experience for all. Electric vehicles , Real Estate Companies, planters, wellness companies, etc. had also put up their stalls. The amalgamation of disco lights with the foot tapping beats of the DJ added a new dimension to the Dandiya trend. The crowd experienced a new musical high and ecstasy of this celebration on the scheduled evening. It was a wonderful spectacle of groovy dance moves of not only young boys and girls swirling in graceful rhythmic patterns but also the parents, grandparents, uncles, aunties siblings and friends delicately balancing themselves on the light-footed beats. It seemed as if the raucous music had cast musical spell on everyone. The event culminated with a prize distribution ceremony wherein the Best Mother & Son/Daughter Jodi, Best Father & Son/Daughter Jodi, Best Grandfather & Grand Son/Grand Daughter Jodi , Best Grandmother & Grand Son/Grand Daughter Jodi , Best Bhai-Behen Jodi, Best Saas-Bahu Jodi, Best husband- Wife Jodi, Best Buddies Jodi were felicitated by some senior citizens. The Principal of the school, Dr. Manjula Goswami, along with her enthusiastic team saw to it that the event was well organised and evolved as a roaring success. She personally attended to the arrangements to ensure a smile on the faces of all guests. She highly appreciated and thanked the staff and also the sub-staff for their efforts in making the event a grand success.
