On the 17th of Dec 2013, The Millennium School played host to “Converge 2013”- an event for Sahodaya group of schools which provided the young literary talents, a platform to compete with one another.

There were 3 competitions- Hindi Elocution, Spell Bee and English Elocution, with a total of 8 Schools participating, the event was opened with a few welcoming words from the Head Girl of the School, Tayba Wasim.

The Hindi group Elocution was held in the School auditorium, with ‘NATURE’ as the theme. Out of the 7 participating schools, the school that won accolades were:

1. LPS South City -1st place
2. DPS Eldeco – 2nd place
3. Manipal Public School – 3rd place

The Second competition was the ‘Spell Bee’. The Students of Grade 3 and 4 faced a tough competition. After going through 6 rounds, the schools that won were:

1. LPS South City – 1st place
2. Sacred Heart School – 2nd place
3. LPS, Sec D , LDA – 3rd place

The English Group Elocution, had ‘HUMOUR’ as its theme. The participants recited humorous poems that invited peals of laughter from the young audience. Out of the 7 participating schools, the schools that bagged the coveted prizes were:

1. Manipal Public School – 1st Place
2. Navyug Radiance Secondry School – 2nd place
3. Greenland Public School – 3rd Place

The event ended with the declaration of the results, and a small speech from the Head Boy of the school, Chiraag Arora. Hosting the event proved to be a wonderful experience for The Millennium School. We hope that we are provided with many more opportunities to promote literary congeniality in the city.
