CLEAN INDIA CRUSADE AT THE MILLENNIUM SCHOOL

A ‘Cleanliness Drive' under SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAAN was organised in the portals of The Millennium School, South City, Lucknow, on 4th August 2017. The kernel of this event was to create awareness among the students regarding cleanliness and its benefits.

The staff and students enthusiastically took up brooms and garbage bags to clean up every nook and corner of the class rooms, corridors, school grounds, parking lot and nearby areas.

Honourable Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Mr.Aditya Nath Yogiji who himself has been a prominent crusader of the Clean India Campaign graced the initiative with his inspiring presence. He addressed the children and implored them to become Health Ambassadors for their neighbourhood and the underprivileged sections of society.

The flamboyant Super star, Mr. Akshay Kumar who has been working relentlessly to spread awareness about the use of toilets in rural areas, also attended the event as the Guest of Honour. He enlightened the children with his stimulating words, saying that as pioneers of the 21st century, students have to accept the responsibility of reforming the nation

A pledge for Cleanliness was also administered to all staff members, students and guests. The event was quite inspiring and motivating for the children. The students realized that any work is best done when it is carried out by oneself. It also apprised the students about the dignity of labour.

 

The Principal of the school, Dr. Manjula Goswami, herself initiated the drive at the school and surrounding areas along with the students and staff members. She exhorted the students to fulfill Mahatma Gandhi‘s dream of a clean India. She asserted that the 'Cleanliness Drive' was indeed a wonderful way to arouse consciousness among children and prepare them for greater tasks in life.
