19 January, Kurukshetra- Class X students of The Millennium School, Kurukshetra had a spectacular opportunity to learn life-skills from Dr. Swaroop Sampat Rawal in a webinar today.
The session started with the singing of the National Anthem. The students were informed that she is conducting the webinars with the students as a part of Azadi Ka Amritmahotsav, the country is celebrating on the 75th year of Indian independence. The students were excited to interact with the renowned educationist. They were told initially the meaning of the life-skills highlighting their vitality to lead a balanced and quality life.
Students particularly learnt the art of decision-making as an integral part of the life-skill. They came to know that one can understand himself better by knowing his own values, emotions, strengths and weaknesses. All the decisions must be taken thoughtfully keeping the repercussions in mind. The technique of decision–making, i.e to make a flow chart jotting-down all the alternatives and ends, was explained to the students.
The activities conducted in the webinar were extremely thought-provoking which in return encouraged the learners to analyse their deeds before taking action. The real life examples given to them proved to be beneficial to them.
All the students enjoyed the interaction wholeheartedly. The best part of the session was question-answer session, wherein the students asked various questions to seek guidance from the expert. Dr. Swaroop appreciated the participant-students for their zeal, repartee and manners. Besides this, she expressed her desire to conduct another workshop with the students in near future.
At the end of the session, students wrote their expressions in the form of a report individually which has become the part of their portfolios. Principal Dr. AK Singh extended gratitude to the moderator for such a mesmerizing session with the students.
