‘Reading is to mind what exercise is to body’. The Millennium School, Kurukshetra celebrated “Reading Week” from 9th September to 15th September in which umpteen linguistic skills polishing sessions with fun - filled activities were organized. An array of events was conducted with the motive to enhance the vocabulary, language skills and to make learning more enjoyable as per the recommendation of the CBSE. During this week, the learners celebrated their reading week in their own way by using "Newspaper Reading ". They selected different stories from various books and newspapers and read them in the classroom. Learners were able to read and present the stories in the classroom with proper expressions and intonations. Moreover, they made the collages on stories in groups and displayed them on the display boards so that other students can also read them. The learners of classes I and II went through the vocabulary and learnt the spellings of new words with curiosity. Learners from classes III to V were also engaged in the "Book Donation Campaign" as well. So many learners donated the collection of story books. The learners enjoyed and learnt so many things throughout the week.To celebrate the Reading Week, the learners of class VI recited the poems of their favourite poets with proper voice modulation and excellent expressions. The learners of class VII read their favourite stories in the class and even they drew the picture for the book cover of their stories creatively and beautifully. On the other hand, classes VIII-XII also celebrated this week enthusiastically. The students read their favourite articles relevant to the modern scenario.
