24 August was a special day at The Millennium School, Kurukshetra. Janmashtami, the birth of Lord Krishna was celebrated with great pomp and festivity by the pre-primary, primary and middle sections. Dressed as Radha - Krishna the students gave a traditional touch to the entire celebration. There was a Handi hanging at the centre of the courtyard and the cute Radha-Krishna pairs danced around it to the beats of Janmashtami songs filling the air with joy and celebratory spirit. They won the heart of the spectators by dressing up in the attires of Krishna, Gopikas and other various characters and enacting their respective roles perfectly. The learners of the ‘Ready to Fly’ and ‘Emerging Wings’ spell bound the audience with their vibrant dances and various mesmerizing ‘Jhankies’ (Tableaus) on the life of Lord Krishna. It imparted the value of Indian culture and religion among the learners. The event comprised of Group Dance on the life of Krishna by pre nursery, class V and VIII. It also created awareness about Indian tradition, custom and culture. It conveyed the strong message “Victory of good over evil.” There was auspicious Aarti, and Prashad was also distributed among the students and the staff members.The event concluded with the message of the Principal Dr. A. K. Singh. He congratulated the students and the staff for organizing such an awesome and praiseworthy programme.
