Inter-house maths quizzes for classes VI to VIII and IX- X were conducted in the Multipurpose Hall of the school. Each team, in both the categories, consisting of four participants from each House i.e. Agni, Jal, Prithvi and Vaayu, passed through four rounds.
The first round was option round in which multiple choice questons were asked. In the second round, puzzle round participants were given interesting puzzles to solve. The third round was buzzer round in which the fastest buzzer pressing team was given the opportunity to tell the correct answer. In the fourth round, rapid fire round, five questions were asked and the participants were supposed to answer them as soon as possible. Ten marks were awarded for the correct answer and five marks for the passed question.
In the quiz of classes VI-VIII, Prithvi House got the first position, Agni House stood second and Vaayu House secured the third position. On the other hand, in the quiz of classes IX-X, Vaayu House got the first position, Agni House stood second and Jal House secured the third position.
The quizzes not only checked the students’ basic knowledge of mathematics, but also enhanced their computation skill. Zeal among the participants and the audience students was praiseworthy. All the students were extremely curious to know the answers of the asked questions from the teams. Even the audience was also involved in the quiz by asking questions from them. Mrs. Poonam Baweja, the coordinator VI-VIII, Mr. Rohit, HOD Science department and Mrs. Aradhana Kaushik, HOD Mathematics department adjudged and supervised the quizzes. Principal Dr. A. K. Singh congratulated the Maths department and the winner teams. He encouraged the students to keep on increasing their knowledge of mathematics as it is applied every field of life.
