The festival of Raksha Bandhan not only celebrates the love and duty between brothers and sisters, it also has a social significance. It underlines the notion that everybody should live in harmony and hence speaks about the rich culture and traditions of India that make our nation extraordinary. To help our children learn about the culture of India, various events were organised in the school today. The students of grade I to V participated in the Rakhi Making competition  on the pious occasion of Raksha Bandhan. All the learners made attractive rakhis with the materials brought by them from their home. They presented  their self- made rakhis very beautifully along with the other auspicious items like rice, sindoor, sugar, etc. in plates. Class IV students also presented a special assembly on this prolific occasion. The orators, dancers, singers all performed to the best of their abilities. Their colourful attires and innocent smiles brightened the whole atmosphere. A special demonstration class on the art of applying  Mehndi on hands was also organised for the girls of classes VI to XII.
