A team of students of grade 5 and grade 6 from The Millennium School, Kurukshetra bagged 1st prize at zonal level in SAE AWIM Skimmer and Jet Toy category respectively. It was organized under the tutelage of Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Northern India Section – ‘A World In Motion’ (AWIM) and sponsored by Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. The competition was organized at JMIETI, Radaur on 18th November 2019 (Monday). Over 36 teams from Kurukshetra, Yamunanagar, Ambala and Karnal participated in Jet Toy and Skimmer category. The winning team will represent their zone at National level in Chennai. This competition for 5th and 6thclass students is an endeavour to promote the understanding of the basics of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) among students all over the world to provide a possible future career in engineering. Names of the class VI students who will be going for National Jettoy Competition are Kunsh, Gurkirat, Manas and Japji under the guidance of their mentor Ms. Sween.Names of the class V students who will be going for National Skimmer Competition are Meenal, Sodat, Drishti and Pavanii under the guidance of their mentor Mr. Rohit .Besides this class VII students of the school have got an opportunity to participate in Glider Making Competition to be held national level in Chennai. It is noteworthy that The Millennium School, Kurukshetra has won the Jettoy competition consecutively for the second time. Principal Dr. A.K. Singh welcomed the laureates and congratulated them and their teachers for this phenomenal achievement.
