‘CURRICULUM ACTIVITY: TASTE THE WORLD’
In this academic session 2019-20 The Millennium School Indore has initiated the process to instill global dimension into the learning experience and registered for the British Council International School Awards 2019-20 (ISA). The British Council offers the International School Award (ISA) as an accreditation framework for schools to record and evaluate their international work and embed it into the Millennium Learning System and whole school ethos.
In continuation to this, the school has organized, “Food Travelers” visit to popular streets and eateries of Indore, 56 Dukaan and Sarafa on Wednesday 4th September 2019 during school hours for senior students along with facilitators with an aim to allow the students to learn about prominent street foods, food preparation or recipes, places to eat and diverse palates of India and countries chosen for the study. During the visits the students will explore popular food joints, eateries and restaurants at 56 Dukaan and Sarafa in Indore. Students will record videos and take pictures of the oldest food joints, unique food items or preparations, different food presentations and also take public review of their favourite food joints and street foods and share with the partner schools of Russia, Poland and Georgia. Students are allowed to carry not more than Rs. 100/- to relish local food of Indore with your due permission only.
Participating in photography contests is a great way for photographers to get recognition and benchmark their work against peers from around the world. Whether you are a professional photographer, a student, or an amateur hobbyist, photography contests provide the perfect platform to hone your skills and evolve your expression. If photography is something that your ward gets immersed in, then students can participate in a ‘Live Food Photography Competition’ during the “Food Travelers” visits to 56 Dukaan and Sarafa of Indore. The best photographs along with student write- ups will be shared through Skype sessions with partner schools of Georgia and Russia.
Eligibility-
School students require the permission of a parent. By entering the contest, it is assumed that entrants have obtained the permission of a parent. Parent is requested to give the consent duly filled and signed for student participation in the Photography competition attached herewith to Mrs. Paridhi Kapoor by tomorrow Saturday 31st August 2019 positively.
Photography to be done by your Camera. No mobile phones will be allowed. Student will be liable for the usage and safety of his/ her Camera.
Students have to wear proper school uniform with ID cards mandatorily for the visit.
Submission Rules-
Participants can submit upto ten preferred photographs with student name, class and section, appealing Caption, camera details or model name, date and a write up about their visit and street foods of Indore (not more than 700 words) by Wednesday 11th September 2019 to Mrs. Paridhi Kapoor.
The photographs have to be submitted in 8”x12” size.
The entries not submitted in the above mentioned format will not be accepted.
What we want
Photos that inspire others to look at and appreciate the world around them.
Photos should be an original work by the student entering it. All parts of the photo must be taken by student during the school visit only.
What we don’t want
Late entries, once the competition is closed on Wednesday 11th September 2019, we will not accept photographs.
Photographs which have text, borders, collage, super imposed, digitally modified or photo edited will not be accepted. No cloning or major editing is allowed. No watermark allowed.
Submissions that have won other photography contest are also not allowed.
In case of doubt, the judge might request original files. Please send selected ten photographs in. jpeg or jpg format with minimum 3000 pixels or 300 dpi resolution. Photographs captured by DSLR must be sent with specifically mentioning the lens used. All photographs should be sent to Mrs. Inderjeet Kaur Bhatia academic.adviser@themillenniumschools.comor in a pen-drive.
The photographs will be judged on the following criteria-
Aesthetic appeal, Configuration, Perception, Technical ability and appealing Caption.
Notification to Winners- The results will be announced in School. The best photography presentations will be appreciated and displayed in the school. The School holds the right to examine the authenticity of the photograph to confirm compliance with the listed rules or publish the photographs.
