Dear Parent
Jai Millennium!
To facilitate the smooth functioning of the school and to ensure an appropriate and a secure learning environment for the students, the following rules have been made mandatory and must be followed.
1.
Transport- Please do not give any instruction about picking up or dropping your child early/ late over the phone. The school will not entertain any such request over the phone. All requests for the address change bus etc, shall be considered only after receiving the request in writing. Changes in pick and drop of students will not be entertained.
2.
Leave- No child will be granted leave without a leave application. Your ward will be marked absent if the application does not reach the school on time and you may be called for an explanation for the child's absence. It has been noticed that parents are picking up their wards early for going to marriages, outing etc.... Please note we do not encourage this practice and a half day leave will be granted only for an emergency.
3.
Identity-cards & Authority Cards- Students must wear their I-cards daily. Kindly carry your Authority Card every time you visit the school office.
4.
PTM- All students accompanying their parents for Parent Teacher Meetings must wear the school uniform. Parents must carry their ward's Almanac/Authority Card/School PTM notice for the PTM.
5.
Almanac- The Almanac must be brought to school every day. Kindly read all the rules & regulations given in the Almanac and sign the declaration. Please fill accurate medical record of your ward in the Almanac.
6.
Uniform- The students should take pride in wearing the school uniform. Shoes should be polished, hair trimmed and nails clipped. Girls should plait their hair in two plaits with navy blue ribbons and Sikh boys to wear navy blue patkas (White Patkas for sports day). Parents are requested to ensure that their ward is smartly turned out. Sports uniform to be worn on Friday and on the day of sports periods.
7.
Tiffin- Please ensure that the students do not bring Chips / Biscuits / Maggi or any other junk food in their tiffin boxes. Stress should be laid on healthy eating habits. Kindly do not send your ward's tiffin during school hours, students should carry their tiffin with them in the morning only.
8.
School Timings- Students should reach school on time. Those who are coming late will not be allowed to enter without permission.
9.
Documents- Parents are requested to submit the pending documents e.g. Transfer Certificate, Report Card, Residence Proof or Birth Certificate etc.. at the earliest.
10.
SA’s would be scheduled towards the end of the month for classes I to V. In case your ward misses any SA, the same would be conducted on the following Saturday.

Know The School
1)
Can my child celebrate his/her birthday in school?
·
Children can wear civil dress and bring sweets to distribute to other children. However, no child is allowed to bring presents or cake on their birthday. From 6th class onwards no civil dress is allowed on their birthday.
2)
How do I get in touch with the school authorities/teachers?
·
There are several ways of communicating with the school. The key link is the Almanac. Apart from this, for one to one interaction, the school conducts an ‘Open House’/PTM which is compulsory for all parents to attend. More over the parents can feel free to write to the school authorities at any time and our interactive website and e-mail are always at your service.
3)
What do I need to do if my address has changed?

Parents should write an application to inform the school if there is any change in their address and telephone numbers.
4)
How do I recover my child’s lost belongings?
·
The name, class and section of the student should be clearly marked on all his/her belongings. In case your ward has lost any of his/her belongings, the parents can inform the class teacher and get the matter resolved.
5)
What is the procedure if any child has to take leave of absence for a few days?
·
The class teacher should be informed about the leave through the given form in the Almanac.
6)
What will happen, if my child’s Identity card is lost or mutilated?
·
Mutilation resulting from normal wear and tear is replaced on the payment of Rs 50.The replacement of the lost Student’s Identity card or the Authority Card will be made on the payment of Rs 100.
7)
Can my child’s bus stop be changed?
·
No. The bus stops cannot be changed to suit individual needs. However the request for change will be considered for exceptional cases and for the change of residence. The change will be subjected to the vacancy in the bus opted for.
8)
Is my child permitted to board another bus if he/she has missed his/her designated bus?
·
Absolutely not. Under no circumstances will a child be allowed to board another bus. Parents are strongly advised not to pursue another bus driver or bus in charge for this.
9)
Is my child allowed to leave the school during the school hours?
·
The child is allowed to leave under an emergency or in exceptional cases. For availing leave during school hours, a prior application should be submitted. The child will be issued a gate pass authorized by the concerned authority on production of the child’s Authority Card. Also, a special log book has to be signed at the security by the person authorized to escort the child out of the campus.

Can my child go to or come from the bus stop unescorted?

Normally no, especially with respect to students up to class II. In case no one comes to collect the child from the bus stop, the bus in-charge will bring the child back to the school. In such cases you will be informed telephonically. You are then expected to collect your ward from the school.
11)
Who ensures the safety of my child in the bus?
·
The designated bus in-charge maintains discipline in the bus. In fact The Millennium School buses conform to strict guidelines issued/laid down by the Supreme Court.
12)
Can we be provided the school bus mobile phone number?
·
On principle, no one is provided the phone number of the bus drivers. In case you need to provide any urgent last minute information, you can ring up the School/Administrative office and your message will be conveyed to the bus in-charge of your child's bus.
13)
If the bus is delayed on the return journey what should I do?
·
Due to heavy rush hour traffic or other unforeseen traffic jams like processions etc, the school bus may be delayed. Under such circumstances, you may call the school administrative office and get further information.
14)
What are the rules for half day leave?
·
In case half day leave is required, an application regarding the same must be submitted to the class teacher. The parent/guardian must come to drop/pick up the child depending on which half (morning/afternoon) the leave is availed.
TIFFIN
·
Children should bring two tiffins to school
a) One tiffin for the snack break. (Fruits/Salad only)
b) One tiffin for the lunch break.
c) Mat and napkin should be carried and religiously used.
To ensure a healthy balanced diet for proper growth and development of the child, the school has planned out a tiffin schedule as given below.

Junk food is discouraged in the school.
DISPERSAL
·
No child will be allowed to leave the school during the working hours without the Gate pass issued by the school.
·
Parents picking up their child/children must ensure that they bring the Authority Card when they come to school.
·
No child will be allowed to leave the school with a minor even if the minor has the Authority Card to pick up the child/children.
·
In case of drivers/servants picking up the children, the parents must ensure that they have an Authorization Letter and their verification is submitted to the school.
SCHOOL TIMINGS

8:00 AM to 2:45 PM :- Classes I to X
·
8:00 AM to 12:45 PM:- TLM (DR, EW & R2F), XI and XII
·
The School follows five days per week schedule.
It’s a 5 day week in the session 2016 – 17. Second Saturday would be an off for the entire Millennium faculty. On the first & third Saturday, if your child requires remedial classes or has missed a S.A or wishes to pursue any co-curricular activity, the school will be happy to deliver the same from 8:00 AM to 12 noon. You need to deposit a written request to the school authority for the same. The pick & drop on Saturday would be the responsibility of the parents.
9th April 2016 : - “Know your child, know my child”
Tomorrow there will be an interactive session only with the parents from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM for all classes (DR to X) to have a better understanding for your wards progress in the new session.
